How to Recover My OPay Account

OPay is Nigeria’s mobile bank that is licensed by the central bank of Nigeria. OPay comes with many amazing features, like zero card maintenance fees, free transfers, automatic savings, POS and more.

OPay mobile bank started a few years back their aim was to solve the numerous problems that users had with traditional banks.

OPay allows its users that have been registered only to have access to their banking services. So, if you are not signed up and confirmed as a user by the OPay platform, you can’t use the app or enjoy any of their services.

How to Recover Your OPay Account

OPay accounts can only be created with a phone number. This is why your phone number is your Opay account number. Users can recover their accounts if they’re able to access the phone number they registered with.

This means to recover an OPay account you must be able to verify your phone number via SMS. OPay cannot send the code via email. If you can receive messages, you may be able to successfully verify that you’re the owner of the number.

If you have not lost your account information, then simply log in to the app with the phone number you registered with including the password you created during the registration.

If you have lost or deleted your OPay account, you can try to recover it by following these steps:

1. Reinstall OPay: Download and reinstall OPay on your phone.

2. Verify your phone number: When prompted, enter the phone number associated with your deleted account. You will receive a verification code via SMS.

3. Wait for the account recovery code: OPay will automatically send you an OTP code to verify your number. This process may take a few minutes.

4. Enter the code sent to you’re OPay and tap Verify.

5. After you’ve verified your number, create a new password and confirm it. Done! OPay will automatically log you in.

If the account restoration process is not successful, you may need to contact OPay Support. You can submit a request through OPay’s Help Center under the Contact us page.

It’s worth noting that OPay account deletion is permanent, so if you have deleted your account, you won’t be able to regain access to your account or retrieve any of the information associated with it.

Once you lost your phone number, know that it is irreversible. It means you cannot recover your old account or retrieve your balance. However, the good news is that you can retrieve your SIM card and use it to log in with your old information.

Why OPay Disabled Your Account

There are number of reasons why OPay may lock your account, but most times, it is either as a result of a suspicious activity or when a tier verification is needed.

1. Accounts are blocked to ensure the safety and security of all OPay users. If any user suspects any suspicious transaction history, they’re advised to report immediately to the OPay customer support team.

2. Also if you keep adding money to an account with a card too often in a short time, like six times or more in ten minutes and moving money to an account from a card with details that don’t match the account name OPay may disable your account.

3. Adding money to an account with a card issued in a country that doesn’t match the account owner’s current location and login in with an unknown device also constitute some of the activities that will make your account suspicious.

Before you can continue using your OPay account, you will need to unlock it. I am going to be writing about how to unlock an OPay account and more.
