8 Ways to Fix OPay Login Problems

OPay mobile banking app can be frustrating at times, keeping you from your transacting with frustrating messages like, “login failed,” please check your connection and try again,” or “Forgot password” even though you know you typed in the correct login password.

There may be a number of reasons why OPay is keeping you from your mobile banking account, like OPay just being down temporarily. If you’re sure OPay isn’t down, and you’re sure you have the right login credentials.

Now, if their servers are running properly, the issue may be with your device. Head down below, and try the suggested solutions to address the problem.

1. Change Your Password and Re-login.

On most occasions, login issues on OPay are caused by invalid login credentials being provided on the login screen. To ensure that you have the correct password for your account, try changing it.

Check out the steps below to guide you through the process.

  • First, open OPay and go to the login page.
  • Now, tap on “Forgot Your Password?”
  • Enter the 6-digit code sent to your phone
  • Finally, follow the on-screen prompts and nominate a new password for your account.

Once done, go back to the login screen and try to access your account.

2. Check if Your OPay Account is Disabled

If all the above solutions fail to fix the problem for you, then it might be the case that your account is disabled. If your account has been disabled, then you will get to see a message that says “your account is disabled” when you attempt to log in.

Well, OPay disables the account for those users who fail to follow the terms and guidelines of OPay, for instance, posting wrong content, impersonating someone, etc.

If you think that your account is mistakenly disabled, then you can use OPay Customer Service in order to enable your account.

3 Check the Internet Connection

OPay will only work if you have a good and stable internet connection. If you are connected to a Cellular network, try connecting to Wi-Fi. If you are already on a Wi-Fi connection, try resetting the Wi-Fi router or connecting to a different network.

4. Check for Updates.

Running an outdated version of any software on your device is a bad idea. Aside from the errors that may occur, you are also exposing yourself to greater risks, since outdated applications do not have the latest security patches.

If you experience login issues on OPay, try to update the app.

On Android, see the steps below on how to update OPay:

  • First, go to your home screen and tap on Google Play Store to open it.
  • After that, tap on the Menu button to open the side menu.
  • On the side menu, tap on My Apps & Games to check for available updates on the apps installed on your device.
  • Finally, tap on the Update button if the Play Store detected a possible update for OPay.

For iOS, check out the guide below on how to update OPay.

  • On your home screen, tap on the App Store to launch it.
  • Now, tap on the Updates tab, and your device should automatically check for available updates.
  • If the App Store detected an update, hit the Update button beside OPay to install it.

After updating OPay, try to re-access your account.

5. Clear App Cache.

Cached data are files, images, and other media that are stored on your device locally. These data are used to quickly load functions and features on apps to improve their performance.

6. Check the Username and Password

Although this may sound obvious, it is not uncommon to forget a single letter on your password, a factor that could prevent you from accessing your account.

Check if you are using the right username and password. If you have forgotten the password, use the “Reset your password” link to get a new one.

7. Check for Server Outages

If you’re having trouble signing into your OPay account, the first thing you should do is check if the servers are down. There are plenty of sites that report on-site and service outages; for this example, we’re using Downdetector.

You can look up the status of any service using Downdetector’s search bar, but one of its conveniences is that the site highlights the latest outages directly on the homepage.

You can see a basic timeline of outage reports from the homepage, and clicking on the service takes you to a more detailed page with specifics on the particular problems users are having and how many people have reported them.

8. Contact OPay Support Center

If all the solutions above don’t work, your only option may be to contact OPay Support because there might be something wrong with the app itself. They may be able to help if there is a unique problem with your account. You can use their Twitter handle or visit the support website at www.opayweb.com.

We hope that the solutions above help you to fix the OPay login problems you are experiencing. Although there are several solutions available to resolve the OPay Login problem, it is advisable you find out what the problem is before you contact OPay.
