It can cover your real IP address and replace it with one from your chosen country, thus spoofing your current region.

1. If you haven’t already, Create Strava account.

2. Install and set up the VPN you would like to use.

3. Use the VPN software to connect your computer to a VPN server located in the country where you want to access Strava.

4. Open Strava in a web browser and log into your account if you’re not already signed in.

How Can Strava Track Your country?

Strava uses location information, such as your device’s GPS signal, and connection information, such as your Wi-Fi connection or IP address (Internet protocol address) to track your location.  Strava says it helps them understand where you are.

The IP address Strava uses is the unique number assigned to your device, such as a phone or computer, that allows it to communicate over the Internet. These numbers are set according to standard guidelines, or protocols. Like someone will need a postal address to receive a letter from a friend, your device needs a digital address to receive information on the Internet.

When your location service is off, Strava may still estimate your region using check-ins, events, and information about your Internet connection. It uses this information to provide more relevant and personalized experiences, monitors your account, and provides its services according to your area.

This feature is available on the Strava website, the app for iPhone, iPad, and Android devices. You can learn more about how to change region/country on the privacy policy page.
